Augusta, GA – April 2025 — In just a few days, Augusta will witness a heart-centered, community-driven moment as Malachi’s Corner hosts its First Annual Autism Awareness Walk and Community Resource Fair on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Lynndale, Inc.
As someone who proudly advocates for autism awareness and inclusion, I’m deeply honored to be part of this year’s inaugural Autism Awareness Walk—not only as a speaker, but as the founder of Auesomely You Magazine, a platform dedicated to celebrating the stories of families like mine and equipping them with tools to navigate autism and special education systems. This year, I’ll be in Augusta to speak with families directly, sharing strategies, answering questions, and offering insight on IEPs and advocacy. I’ll also be capturing heartfelt moments to share with my Auesome Tribe online and will have my children’s books and advocacy resources available for purchase at the event.

Though I’m based in Atlanta, just two hours away, the purpose behind this Augusta-based event speaks volumes to me. It’s about unity, visibility, and creating access to resources in places that need them most. Hosted by the inspiring Paula Lewis, this walk is more than just steps—it’s a stride toward understanding, connection, and change.

Events like this are needed!
With registration beginning at 8:30 AM and the walk kicking off at 10:00 AM, families and advocates will gather for a day filled with local resources, vendor tables, and opportunities to connect with professionals, caregivers, and passionate changemakers. I’m particularly excited to connect with parents one-on-one and share insight as both an IEP strategist and autism mom.

The generosity of sponsors like Alicia Washington of Del'Da Mobile Training Center and Compassion Corps, Inc. helps bring this event to life, but the community’s involvement is what will truly make it memorable. Donations, volunteers, and supporters are still welcome.
