More Than a Festival: How One Autism Mom Is Building a Village Through Mindfulness Spectrum 901

Meet Tera Taylor-Jones, M.Ed., the mother, educator, and autism advocate turning personal experience into purposeful community impact.

COMMUNITY IMPACT & EVENTS | AUESOMELY YOU MAGAZINE™

For Tera Taylor-Jones, M.Ed., autism advocacy is more than organizing events, spreading awareness, or bringing families together. It is a calling rooted in motherhood, faith, education, and a deep commitment to ensuring that no family feels alone.

As the Founder and Visionary of Mindfulness Spectrum 901, Tera is transforming her lived experiences into meaningful opportunities for autistic individuals and their families to experience acceptance, connection, and belonging.

A wife of 15 years, mother of five, special education teacher, and passionate autism advocate, Tera understands firsthand the importance of having a supportive community.

Her youngest son, Kal’EL, who is nonspeaking and has Level 3 autism, has been a powerful inspiration behind her advocacy journey.

An Educator With a Heart for Inclusion

Tera’s passion for helping others extends into the classroom. She holds an Associate of Science in Business Administration from Southwest Tennessee Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Education with a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Memphis, and a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Grand Canyon University.

She is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in Special Education Interventionist K–8 at Christian Brothers University, with an anticipated graduation in May 2027.

She is also a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated.

Combining professional knowledge with personal experience, Tera brings a unique perspective to autism advocacy, recognizing that families need more than information. They need understanding, meaningful resources, and opportunities to connect.

Building More Than Events — Building Community

Through Mindfulness Spectrum 901, Tera has organized community experiences including the Inaugural Radiant Moms Autism Brunch, Bowling for Autism, Neurodiversity Awareness Night with the Memphis Redbirds, and the Autism Awareness Sneaker Ball.

Each initiative reflects her commitment to creating opportunities where autistic individuals and families feel welcomed rather than overlooked.

Her latest vision, the 1st Autism Mini Fall Festival, continues that mission.

The festival is being created as a welcoming, judgment-free experience for autistic children, teenagers, adults, and their families to enjoy activities, connect with community resources, build friendships, and make lasting memories.

For Tera, the purpose goes far beyond seasonal festivities.

The Heart Behind the Festival

Many autism families understand how difficult it can be to find community experiences where their loved ones are truly accepted.

Tera wants to help change that narrative.

Her vision is to bring families, educators, advocates, businesses, and community partners together to create an environment where every individual feels valued.

The festival represents an opportunity to strengthen the village that so many families are searching for.

And at the center of her mission is something deeply personal: faith.

“For me, this is more than planning an event. This is a ministry.” — Tera Taylor-Jones, M.Ed.

Her hope is that families leave with more than treats and memories. She wants them to leave with encouragement, meaningful connections, helpful resources, and the reassurance that they are not navigating their journeys alone.

Why This Mission Matters

At Auesomely You Magazine™, we believe true inclusion happens when advocates turn personal experiences into community action.

Tera’s work through Mindfulness Spectrum 901 demonstrates how one mother’s vision can create opportunities for countless families to feel supported and celebrated.

The 1st Autism Mini Fall Festival is not simply about having fun. It is about creating space, removing barriers, strengthening relationships, and reminding families that belonging should never be a privilege.

As Tera continues expanding her vision, her message remains clear: every individual deserves the opportunity to experience joy, acceptance, and community.

Because building a village begins when someone decides to make room for everyone.
